Pear-y Goodness

Last night Mr Man had his first taste of Pears mixed with rice cereal. It was so adorable... I forgot to take pictures :D

But don't fret my freaders... I took pictures this evening. Here are the pictures of Mr Man enjoying his peary goodness!

A re-cap of sorts

Well folks, as of now, I still haven't gotten rid of my precious kitty, Fatty McFatterson. However, I know the day needs to come, my heart is just breaking a little. Apparently, according to my friend (who has a 4 month old) it is not possible for babies to be allergic to cats at this age, but who knows. Mr Man is still sneezing quite a bit.

It has been like 900 degrees over here in Tejas, and boy howdy (that was my nod to Texas) does it suck. Actually today there is a Mosquito scare (no idea what that is?) but the news just told me to stay indoors. Um.. ok?

Not to mention there have been these disease ridden "spray parks" all over the news. I guess there like pools that just spray water... not really sure. And apparently they have given both adults and children this sickness that makes you leak from all orphisis. Cuuuuute! So glad Mr Man is not old enough to go to these places.

Hmm... what else? I don't know. I haven't been feeling really well lately. Kind of in a funk. Not sure why. Actually I do know why, and it makes me sad. Hubs has recently informed me my days as a stay at home are numbered. I am going to try and get a part time job, but daycare is not really an option. I am totally against it for my little guy, and I am just trying to figure out what I can do, instead of getting a night/weekend job. Right now, it doesn't look too promising. It looks as if dishes will be served and uniforms will be worn. Boo!

I wish everyone was rich and if you wanted to stay home with your little ones, you should be allowed. Blugh!

Anyway, sorry to put a downer on the day. Hope your weeks go much better! :D

So Long Fatty!!!

Well folks, I am very saddened to say, that our eldest cat (and my first pet... ever) has to be given away to a no-kill shelter.

With a baby, and a chihuahua, we just don't have the room. Not to mention, everytime Basil is around B he sneezes, and we are worried our little man is allergic.

I am sad to see him go, but obviously, the baby takes priority.

If you know of a wonderful home, who wants an older cat, that is very lovable. Feel free to leave a comment. I have to do this sometime this week.

13 weeks and a blogworthy event!

Well, today was a bit of a struggle. Mr Man woke up, happy as a lark, but soon became a Mr Fussy. I am not too fond of Mr Fussy, simply because I never know what to do with him. He was gnawing on his hand, and drooling non stop, so I thought he might have been teething. A little early (yes, I know!) but I checked his temp and his gums and his nose, and it seemed that was not the problem. I couldn't figure it out. I was so sad because Mr Man just wouldn't stop crying.

After 2 calls to the doctor (one, to figure out what I could do to help, and the next for a squeeze me in an apt) I packed up our little man and we were headed to the office.

After Mr Man crying and the doc doing a thorough check up, it was decided....

Mr Man... was... hungry. Yep! That's right folks. He was hungry.

Apparently Mr Man weighs 14 lbs and he is needin' some rice cereal in his life. APPARENTLY... he is too advanced and needs to jump ahead 3 weeks. Not to mention, our pediatrician said he was VERY advanced, because he is grabbing and puting things in his mouth.

So... this evening we fed our little man rice cereal for the first time, and he was a CHAMP!

I am so proud of my little man for this 13 week milestone.

Dear...

Dear Eyeglass place,

I would appreciate, if when you tell a customer your hot new Fendi glasses will be ready by Mon (yeah, the one that has already passed) that my glasses might actually be IN your office by that date. Not... to have me call and then tell me I am blind so my prescription will take 10 days because I had to order the super thin lenses. Kthxbye!
-----------------------------------------
Dear hair,

If you could behave and look somewhat normal, that would make me happy. I don't care if you want to be curly OR straight, I would just really like for you to be looking cute. I just dyed you and the color looks great, so if the style could follow, that would be nice. Kthxbye!
-----------------------------------------
Dear pants, skirts and shorts in my closet,

I understand I used to be small and my hips non-existant, however, I just had a child (like 3 months ago) and I know you have some damn spandex in you, so if you could stretch to fit over these new found hips and not hug my ass to give me the biggest wedge ever, I would greatly appreciate it. Kthxbye!
------------------------------------------
Dear Mineral Makeup,

Not quite sure if I like you yet. I understand you give a clean finish, but I am used to liquid foundation, so I am not sure you give me the coverage I need. I AM giving you one week, but you better shape up... quickly, because I want my face to look natural, not like I am not wearing makeup. Kthxbye!
-----------------------------------------

Any dear's you would like to add?

Facial Time!

So I went for my facial on Saturday, and it was AWE-SOME!! The estiticion was so knowledgable and it was so relaxing, I just couldn't get over it!

I thought I would share some of the things she told me about skin.

First and foremost, you should be exfoliating at least twice a week. I knew this, but I guess not a lot of people do.

She also told me, if you have combination or oily skin, all cosmetics they sell at the mall, i.e. MAC or Clinique or even Chanell are really bad for your skin. Apparently the first ingredient in those make-ups are petrolium jelly (aka vasoline) so the first thing they do is clog your pores, creating hella blackheads.

Her suggestion is to always used Mineral make-up. She said Bare Minerals is ok (aparently they are not very advanced) but J. Ardel is one of the best. Now, this is just for foundation or powder. For eyes, you don't have to worry about that, because that is non porus skin, but for foundation this is a great ip.

She also said that when cleaning your face, if you have make-up on, you should always clean your face twice. Because most of the time when you clean your face once, the only thing you remove is the make-up, and your face is not getting properly cleaned. So always, when wearing make-up, wash your face twice.

These tips should eliminate most blakcheads and "congestion" in your skin.

Hope some of these tips were informative. I know it sure helped me!

My boobs hurt and I need a nap

Don't know why I felt the urge to share that with you all, but I did... so get over it :D

I am not quite sure why, after 3 months of nursing, my nipples decided to get a bit crunchy, but wholy moley folks. THAT HURTS! I have a fear that when Mr Man decides to latch on it is going to sound like he is crunchin on some cheetos. Then the 3 little rice crispy men are gonna pop on my bed and start singing, Snap! Crackle! Pop!

Ok not really, but that is my fear.

Not to mention Mr Man has been doing this thing where he naps during the day, like right after I drink some coffee and take my energy vitamin, so that when he sleeps, I am no where close to wanting to take a nap. This week during his naps, I decided to clean out my tupperware drawer, re-organzie my sweater drawers, and build a bookshelf for his room. Productive... yes, and very sleep deprived.

However, my dear freaders, tonight is going to blissful. Full of soft music, aromatic smells and amazing relaxation! Tonight, I booked a 5 pm facial. Screw dinner, it's facial time!! Yesteday I call the woman and ask what time they are open until. She proceeds to tell me 9 pm. Then I ask (stupidly) if they have any openings tonight... at 5pm. She says, "yep, we're wide open." Then I realize, that yes, you would be wide open on a 5pm on a Saturday night... DUH! She then proceeds to feed off of my stupidity and tell me, "not to many people book facials at 5pm on a Saturday night." All right, damn lady, you don't have to rub it in. I have a 3 month old and this is the most amazing Saturday night I have booked in about... well... 3 months :)

So folks, I hope you have a fantabulous weekend. Lord knows I am in for a blissfull evening, where the boobs get a break, I may actually get a nap, and my face will be glowing.

Ciao, Ciao!

3 Months ago today, I was lying in a hospital bed, with my legs in the most unflattering position, and people telling me to push.

I was so anxious to meet my little bundle, I forgot all about the pain. My rosary was in hand and after 20 minutes, my little guy had arrived.

There he was: black hair, tan skin, and crying for someone to make him warm.

The sound of your child’s first cry is a moment I will never forget. All I wanted to hear was that cry, and all I wanted to do was to make it stop. Being a mother, in those very first moments, is something you cannot describe. It is an immediate love for someone, and immediate caring for someone, an immediate connection that is unmistakable.

Now, 3 months later, when I hear that cry, I can’t help but run to his side. I can’t help but want to stop it, as I did in the first few moments of life.

Mr Man and I have an untouchable bond. It is a love I have never felt before. It encompasses your entire being. It makes you swoon when the thought of him enters your brain. It makes you smile, when you know he recognizes your face. And best of all, are those subtle moments, like when you are done feeding and you prop him on your shoulder for a little burp, and all he does is lay his little head on your shoulder. It is the hug that you never knew you needed. It is a snuggle that could give the world peace. It the most rewarding and exhausting experience I have ever been through.

So, as it is only his 3 month “birthday” I am sure there is more to come, but so far, it is an experience I wouldn’t change for anything.

I love you Mr Man. You have completed a part of me that I never knew was a gaping hole. You have filled my heart with an immense amount of love and I pray that we carry this bond for the rest of our lives.

Happy 3 month “birthday” baby, it only gets better from here!

The Hair Color

Since I don't have a picture of the new hair, I found one that is similar. You see, I have almost the same skin tone as J-Lo, so I always see what she has going on.

Not to mention her hair is curly, so I like to see what haircut she has.

The color is pretty similar to this, but my hair is shorter.

The Hotness... multiplied!

OMG... yesterday hubs let me buy these amazing Fendi eyeglasses. See above picture!!

I got the color in the smaller box. But with my new amazing hair color they work perfectly.

I feel like a new woman!

When I get them in, I will take a picture of both!

------------------------------

As for the private thing, I am still undecided. I love having new readers, and it seems (according to Google) that I have about 130 people that read my blog daily, so some people would have to not be able to read - I guess you have a limit of 100 - but I am going to think on it more and see.

As for now, you are all invited!

Sunday, July 13, 2008

Shhh... it's private!

Well my dear freaders, I have a feeling the good Lord above is telling me to make my blog private.

You see, I have been reading other blogs and there seems to be anonymous people out there who just want to leave crap comments and be anonymous and not let you know who they are. Not to mention, it is a damn scary world, and the whole reason I started this amazing outlet was because my family is scattered throughout the country and I wanted them to be able to see what was going on with me.

Now it seems, I have lurkers from every part of the world, who don't care to share why they read or what they get out of this blog. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the dear freaders who constantly leave comments and tell me to come and decorate their nursery, but it seems they are far and few between.

After Martini and Valley Girl had to delete their blog for one reason or another, I realize no one is safe. Not even this little mommy blog with a big Italian heart.

I do, however, wonder what your take is? Someone once told me, whatever you put on the internet is out there, so you better watch what you say. While others tell me they read my blog all the time and get joy from it.

I am just pretty torn. I think, in terms of safety, I should make it private, but then I think, aaahh who the hell am I. No one reads this little outlet but my friends and family. UGH! I am just so torn it is bugging me.

Ok... enough said. You all let me know. Private or not? And if you are a lurker... feel free to come out of hiding and tell me what you enjoy about the blog?

Nursery Pictures!

The piece de resistance (sp?) the mural and changing table with pictures.

Crosses.

A beautiful painting from Hubs cousin.

We added some stars and some pictures :)

I don't have anything on the shelves yet, because they aren't secure. I just put them up there for the picture.

I know everyone wanted to see pictures of the nursery, so here are the finishing touches! And once the shelves are done I will add some schtuff.
Hope everyone has a fab weekend!

Chihuahua for sale!!

Woke up this morning (after B waking ever hour on the hour) to a torn up breast pad at the end of the stairs and poop on the floor right outside of B's room. I think he is trying to send me a message. What do you think?

I think if anyone wants a very loving Chihuahua you are more than welcome to take him from me ;-)

Some things I'd like to get off my chest

A. This nursing bra...jk ;-)

B. First and foremost, don't touch the baby. I know he is cute, adorable in fact, but please don't touch my child! Yesterday, at the grocery store, I'm checking out and the girl who puts the groceries in your bag decides (while B is fast asleep in his carseat in the cart) to run her fingers through his hair. I'm sorry WHAT??!!! No, No No!!! You do not touch a baby that is not yours, ESPECIALLY if the poor child is sleeping. PEOPLE have some damn courtesy. BLEH! I so wanted to go and sanitize his hair. I mean, she has been touching meat and who knows what else all day. Bleh!!! Please, ASK the mother if it is ok to touch him. PLEASE PEOPLE. I beg of you. THINK!! before you react! I know he is delicatable, but back the F away!

C. My nursery is almost completely done. I know it has taken about 3 months, but I have added shelves and crosses from the Chirstening and other lovelieness and I am just so extatic for it to be done. Yippeee! Thanks to the in-laws for all their help.

D. B is going through this weird clingy thing, and he will only go to sleep when it is quite and when he is in my arms. The moment I put him in his crib the moment he wakes up. I don't get it, and my arm is getting a hell of a workout.

Any things you wanna get off your chest?? You know you wanna!!

Just call me Mr Active! Mr Man is doing a great job trying to sit up. He is (of course) a little wobbly, but overall he can't get enough of it.

Randomness

So, I am trying to write a book. Not too sure if I'll finish it or how far I'll get, but it is a pretty interesting process, and a lot harder than I ever imagined. It is fun though, I can't lie.
----------------------------
*Bachelorette Spoiler Alert*

Can I just say, WOO HOO Jesse! Way to go! Are they not the cutest couple. Seriously, I felt so bad for Jason but way to go Jesse, you snowboarding stud you!
---------------------

So, I have a hair apt this Saturday and I want to do something different. I swear that is always the case with me, but I just don't know what to do? I am kinda sick of the blonde chunks. I am thinking I am going to go chestnut brown (as close to my natural color as I like) and maybe do some honey highlights. Ugh. I don't know. Lately I just haven't been happy with my hair. Cut or color. We'll see.
---------------------

Anything random going on in your world? Come on folks, let it out!

Home Again!

Phew... I am so glad to be home. Mr Man was a perfect angel on our little gettaway and we had an absolute blast hanging with the fam. But I am just glad to be back in our home, with our animals and our stuff.

The last day, Mom, baby bro and I decided to head home in one day (about 16-17 hours in the car) instead of stopping in a hotel and making it a two day trip. It was much better (I think) and now B and I are trying to settle back into our routine.

I know it is going to take a couple of days, but so far, we are doing great!

Not to mention Mr Man is becoming so much more active, it is unbelievable.

He is rolling from tummy to back (we are not sure if he does this on purpose, but he does it) and he is almost sitting up. If he lays on his back for too long he gives you this look like, come on lady... let me sit up. I'm a big boy now! I'll have to get a picture of it. SO cute!

We hope you all had a wonderful 4th and we will chat with you soon. We're off to take a nap.

Happy 10 Week "Birthday" Baby!

Mr Man at the beach today.

Mr Man in the tent. Don't be alarmed folks, the tent is red!

Boogie boarding!

One more try...

A little paddle ball with the baby bro.
Well folks, today Mr Man is 10 weeks old. He has become such a good boy over these couple of months, and he is so much more aware.
He has figured out he has hands and he dying to suck his thumb. He hasn't quite figured out where the thumb is but his index finger seems to be just as good, for now.
He has figured out he has feet, and he loves to watch the blanket move as he kicks his feet.
He laughs at Momma and Daddy.
He smiles when he is super happy
and best of all...
He recongnizes faces. He watches as Momma walks around the room and listens as she sings to him. And he knows when Daddy comes in to pick him up.
He is absolutely a joy and I just couldn't love him any more!

A Post in Pictures

Today... a little putt putt to pass the time!

Baby B!

Baby Bro, ready to putt it up!

A little wind a rain, the night before

Dinner with the fam. Yes, I know we look alike!

Yumm!
We have a couple more days, here at the beach, then we head back to Granddad's for some 4th of July fun!
Hope you all have a fabulous freedom day, and say a prayer for all the troops overseas fighting for freedom!
